Casting

To begin casting, I made an object out of clay, in this case my own version of an Easter Island head. You have to make the features of it securely attached and have nothing inverted otherwise when you pull it out of the plaster cast mold it will break off.

After making the cast I had to mix water with plaster cast powder and stir until reaching the correct consistency and then coated the head all over in a giant lump, you then leave it to set and once set break it in half carefully, remove the head and then attach the two halves together again securely.

Once done, position the cast upside down and pour more plaster cast into the gap which the easter island head had been, leave to set and then open up the cast revealing a plaster cast replica of the object.
